Every Brilliant Thing

You’re seven years old. Mum’s in hospital. She finds it hard to be happy.

So, you start to make a list of everything that’s brilliant about the world.
1. Ice cream
2. Water fights
3. Staying up past your bedtime

And as you grow, so does the list…

Every Brilliant Thing is an honest, uplifting and very funny play about resilience, love and the lengths we go to for the people who matter most. Told by a single performer and brought to life with the help of the audience, this is a theatrical experience like no other. Whilst the story remains the same, participants will experience their own unique version of the show based on what they put into it.

Following its acclaimed run in Keswick, Theatre by the Lake brings this powerful production to venues across Northern England, creating shared moments of laughter, reflection and connection in the heart of local communities. Each performance is different and each audience shapes the story.
Come and be part of it.

Film and Food Halloween event – 31st of October – The Witches of Eastwick

Here at the Hall, we aren’t keen on the really scary movies so we’ve chosen The Witches of Eastwick as our Halloween offering – join us on 31st and you can be out of the house while the trick or treat-ers call!

The witches of Eastwick is a satirical comedy starring Jack Nicholson alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon and Cher who play three lonely women courted by a charismatic stranger. This engaging romp focuses more on humour and campy fun than traditional scares. Nicholson makes an absolute meal of his role as Daryl Van Horne, and the script is witty and a little bit suggestive…

Following the themes of the movie Nick has devised the following menu:  Lasagne with a pumpkin and courgette topping followed by cherry crumble with cream. In the bar there will be a Cape Cod cocktail and apple cider available to purchase alongside your meal as well as the usual wine and beer.

Timings: Doors open at 6.00. Food served at 6.30pm. Movie at 7.30pm (runs for just short of 2 hours). Cost £15 for film and food. Tickets available from https://www.ticketsource.com/newbrough-town-hall/t-mjrxxmr
